Brain Popcorn

Hello all.

It's the weekend, so there really isn't anything terribly interesting to report. My room is clean(er), yay. I think there are really only 2 boxes left to go through (oh my goodness I nearly wrote "threw," sigh.) and then my room excavation shall be completed. I believe that if I don't keep up with some form of writing, reading, etc I shall lose any hope of recognizable grammar. It's already beginning (through/threw). However, I shall endeavor.

Today there was a tornado warning. Well, as much as a tornado warning as "the tornado is moving 5mph Southeast." I mean, really? 5? Who knows. Perhaps that is fast for a tornado.

My brain has been flooded recently. Lots of...cottony goodness has invaded, and I am cluttered in the mind. I'm trying to organize my thoughts and what I have to do, etc. First off, let me tell you something. You know P90X? The ridiculous, do-15-pull-ups-then-30-more-ab-crunches-and-run-3-miles-before-you-can-take-a-20-second-break-you-slacker, program for the certifiably insane? Well I don't know if you knew that there exists a YogaX. Oh yes, it is from the same excitable fellow. Why, yes, I have picked it up every other day. And yes, I do hurt in umpteen and unknown places. It's an hour and a half of the most brutal things my hamstrings have ever seen since... .... ....... ever, possibly. But, I feel flexible and accomplished. Hah.

Let's organize, shall we? I like lists (to an obsessive point) so let's make one of Brain Fluff.

Things to do:
  • Call Sonnier back because I'm pretty damn sure she got engaged. (I'm so happy for her. I think if anyone deserves it, she deserves this happiness.) (on a side note, why are all my friends engaged/married/pregnant???)
  • Text the Bestie. Must let him know, Have Not Been Devoured By RoUSes (Hah most of my to-dos include catching up with people) (you get +1 friend points if you caught that reference without consulting Lord Google.)
  • Plan Irvine Trip.
  • Respond to Nicki about Vegas- Yes I'm going, No I don't know when I'm free, Yes, I am potentially available whenever. No, I haven't read the instructions on the survey thing you sent me, No, I don't plan on doing so. I'm sorry, but I can't see how it makes things easier. just know that I'm good for it, and I might end up meeting you guys there since I might visit Steph earlier.
  • Fix my Camera. Either find the STUPID THREE PRONGED HEX KEY that is smaller than a FRAKKING SPECK OF DUST (literally. I would take a picture and show you if my camera worked!) or take it to a camera store. (Ok seriously, who makes microscopic three pronged hex tools?! The Japanese, that's who.)
  • Organize my dang bookshelves.
  • Tell my Babies when I'm visiting. Haha whoops. I suppose this falls under "Plan Irvine Trip."
Oh, I don't remember anything else. Plus, deconstructing my brain like that took way too much time. I've been watching Late Shows now. (Oh btw. On a side note. I have never taken much interest in SyFy shows, hush Val. BUT I do have an unhealthy passion for The Big Bang Theory, in which they say "What the Frak." However, I did not know until I watched Caprica (which was decent, and a prequel to Battlestar Galactica) that Frak is actually from Battlestar Galactica. And thus, a full circle of referencing has completed.) (Although, I still have no desire to watch BSG, sorry Val.) OK back on point. Late Shows and Late Late Shows. I've decided that Craig Ferguson is the only one worth watching. Primarily because he does this with Ewan McGregor:

Much Love.

Nothing Extraordinary.

Hello People.

I have nothing to report. This last couple of days have been extremely uneventful. There has been a huge storm blowing through and it's been pouring and thunderstorming. (Ridiculous.) Ew. I hate the rain :(

I've had time to organize my books, and I think I'm going to implement some sort of system (haha) because everything is double stacked on multiple bookshelves (blah I like to read) and it is entirely too hard to find....anything!

It's been about a week since my interview with Company X so hopefully I'll be hearing from them soon!!

I've been trying to stay on a vitamin regime (cause let's face it, I definitely don't get my daily serving of calcium. I hate American milk) And, well, I dislike taking daily pills. So, I've stumbled across these vita...gummy things from Costco that seem to be doing the job. Daily multi-vitamins, vitamin C and calcium chews. I think I'm set. At first I was concerned about an overdose on Vitamin C...but at least I'm not ingesting the same amount of Vitamin C as Airborne.

Totally unrelated: this is kind of an awesome Periodic Table that shows you what the element is most used for. It's for kids, and it's amazing.

Guilt and Other Indoor Sports

Hello All.

I'm going crazy. I went from no job options to more than one. Which is nice, but crazy. O.o

Current Job News:

So, Company X decided they liked me. (YAY) There is only 1? (I think?) Spot for an internship (Oh Boy.) But they like me. So they want to meet with me in one week. Which is awesome.

However. The Insurance company really wants me to work for them, so they're sending me to some orientation..something. After that, I have one more meeting before I start on a 3-week training period. After that, I will have biweekly meetings, and my time is basically my own to schedule meetings, etc. So, it's sort of just a regular job.

But. Ok so here's the thing. Company X wants to be updated on the jobs that I am being considered for. I kind of feel like they won't care if I have a job on the side, especially because my hours at Company X are few, far between, and flexible. It is totally possible to do both jobs. Besides, Insurance company pays base + whatever else you make, it's kind of like commission... but not. Company X pays...just a few more $ than what I made as an OA, for just a few more hours. So, if you put them together, I'll be like a whole person. (haha.)

SO: dilemma- do I go through with Insurance company (even though I'm reaaaally sure I don't want to work for them?) and pin my hopes on MAYBE getting the internship at Company X? Cause if I don't get it, and don't accept the Insurance company job, I have, well, nothing. I think I'm going to go through with the Insurance company, cause it can't hurt, and see what happens with Company X. Wish. Me. Luck.

Family News:
My long-lost brother called today! I had forgotten I had a brother. (Hah.) Well, he's super busy with college, and I'm really proud of him, so I'm ok if he doesn't call all that often. Plus, I'm pretty sure that I'll love him even if he doesn't call his favorite sister (haha.) (DID YOU HEAR THAT? I SAID FAVORITE.)

You know, I talked to my mother, and she was like "Oh, I talked to your brother and I was like. Who?! I don't remember you!" and I was like. Pshhh Jewish Mothers have NOTHING on my Persian Mother. (So be grateful that I don't lay on the guilt like she does! I'm only half. Haha.)

Life News:
My camera officially died. I've been trying to make it work ever since we've been tide-pooling, and it has been, but it was old and the battery started leaking so I had to order another battery. I'm waiting for it to arrive- should be here next week, so I will take more pictures for this blog, I promise. As of now, you have to suffer with Flickr and whatnot, haha.

I set the date for my graduation pictures (and yes I am getting a yearbook) (no, I don't know why, ask my Persian Mother) ("You will look back on this time and wish you had gotten a yearbook....skghoahfao") and I will be in Irvine sometime between 1.28-2.4 . Keep in mind that there is a (stupid) career fair (with like 20 people. No one interesting.) on the 28th so I will be unreachable. Plus, on the 2nd I have a photo sitting. (Seriously, mom?!) But I am mostly available other than that, so let's plan something.

Kanzashi Contemplation

Hello all. again. I'm glad someone reads this! Val says I don't tweet anymore. Which I don't. But I go through phases, we're going to try out this blogging thing (nevermind that the posts are getting increasingly farther apart, but I'm trying) and if it doesn't work, we are going to go back to tweeting. And possibly Facebook. (Although, we are on a FB hiatus right now.)

Job News:

SO, I got a job offer. (YAY) It's for an insurance company in Concord (sort of YAY) It's a Fortune 500 (YAY) it is like an insurance sales job (BOO). I'm not thrilled, but it's a job.

BUT: I have a phone interview tomorrow. For this company that I Desperately. Desperately. want to work for. Company X is also a Fortune 500. (YAY) It's an internship that I'm applying for (sort of YAY) and they have an office up home (YAY) and one in Irvine (REALLY BIG YAY). HOWEVER: it is super competitive and I reaaaaaaaally doubt that I will get it, but I really. REALLY. want it. Wish me luck.

Life News:

I have been making Kanzashi. Yeah, I don't know why either.

But they're pretty! This is what Kanzashi is for those of you who don't know:

Allright. I'm off to set my alarm. I think I'm going to make beef stew tomorrow. Hmmmmm

Love!

Classical Conditioning.

Room Update:

I have dented the monstrosity that has become the Mika equivalent of a Batcave. (by dented, I of course mean, that there is a path to the bed from the door.) Well, at least you can still see the floor. And perhaps it doesn't count aesthetically, but I have cleaned out my drawers, so in some future I will fill them with the articles of clothing that now reside out of the drawers. (Hah.)

BY The Way: +1 friend points if you can guess where the title for this blog comes from.
+2 if you can do it without consulting Lord Google.

Random Trivia:

my dad and I were talking about airports that I have visited and generally speaking in airport code. List of the ones I have visited:

ARNAUABDABKKBOSCKG
DENDFWDPSHIJHKGHND
HNLHOUIPLJFKKOJKMJ
LASLAXLGALHRMEXNAS
NRTOAKSFOSJCSJUSNA
THR

This is more like a guessing game for Jacqui, lol.

I leave you with this nugget of comedic awesomeness: (and if you don't watch The Big Bang Theory, please remove the rock from above your head.)
